PURPOSE:To dry a plate while uniform, fine air permeable pores are formed thereon without partial generation of air permeable pores to increase oxygen gas absorbency by circulating hot air for drying the plate coated with active material to semi-dry the active material. CONSTITUTION:A paste-like active material 1 prepared by kneading an active material and binder with solvent is supplied from a storage tank 2 to a coating tank 3. A core material 4 made of punched metal is uncoiled from a core reel 5 and fed to the tank 3, and the active material 1 is applied to both sides of the core material 4 to form a plate 6. The plate 6 is passed through a slit 7 to remove the excess active material 1 and to obtain a given thickness. The plate 6 is fed to a hot air circulation type drying process 8, and exposed to hot air and the hot air is circulated to semi-dry the active material 1. Then, the plate is fed to a hot air circulation type drying process 9, and exposed to hot air to completely dry the active material 1 while the hot air is exhausted. |
