The invention relates to a baggage rack for vehicles, provided for receiving bicycles or similar objects. It will particularly find its application in the field of the construction of accessories for vehicles and for the transportation of objects. According to the invention, the baggage rack 1 is intended to be placed particularly facing the rear zone of a vehicle 2, and comprises a baggage rack chassis 3, matched to the configuration of the objects to be transported, and means 4 for fastening the chassis 3 onto the vehicle 2. According to one characteristic of the invention, the baggage rack 1 has lockable means 24 for retracting the said chassis 3 so as to clear and gain access to the rear zone of the vehicle 2 facing the baggage rack chassis 3. <IMAGE>
