PURPOSE:To provide a conductive coating having an excellent bonding power for connecting power cables insulated by crosslinked polyethylene, by incorporating conductive carbon black, graphite, crosslinker, and org. solvent with polyolefin resin capable of crosslinking by means of org. peroxide. CONSTITUTION:10-200pts.wt. conductive carbon black (e.g., Ketjen Black), 0.1- 50wt%, based on the amt. of said carbon black, graphite, 0.5-10pts.wt. crosslinker (e.g., tert-butyl peroxide), and an org. solvent (e.g., toluene) are incorporated with 100pts.wt. polyolefin resin capable of crosslinking by means of org. peroxide (e.g., ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer) to yield the intended conductive coating. The obtained coating is used by applying it to the joining area of cables, which are connected by causing the polyolefin resin contained in said coating to co-crosslink with crosslinkable polyethylene resin for cable insulation.
