Apparatus for electronically triggering watering. The invention relates to a device which can open a solenoid valve or switch on a pump for triggering the watering of plants in a flat or in small gardens, without running the risk of damaging the plants and of wasting water. It consists of two modules: - a transmitter; - a receiver. The transmitter has a hygrometric probe 4 and a phototransistor 2 which is responsible for monitoring both the moisture content of the soil and the amount of sunlight, these parameters being necessary for transmitting a signal, by means of infrared diodes 1, to a receiver module which picks up the signal by means of a photodiode 6 which, after processing the signal, triggers a pulse necessary for switching on a pump or for opening a solenoid valve. This apparatus is designed for triggering the watering of plants in a flat or in small gardens and, by virtue of a more powerful transmitter, for triggering the watering of large agricultural areas under cultivation. <IMAGE>
