PURPOSE:A dispersion stabilizer for a mixture of coal with oil, containing an alkylene oxide adduct (derivative) of a polymer obtained by substituting the chlorine of an epichlorohydrin polymer, etc. with a specific nitrogen-containing compound, capable of dispersing finely pulverized coal in a fuel oil stably for a long period, and capable of keeping the fluidity. CONSTITUTION:A dispersion stabilizer, containing an alkylene oxide adduct (derivative) of a polymer obtained by substituting the chlorine of epichlorohydrin homopolymer or a copolymer of epichlorohydrin with a cyclic ether compound with a nitrogen-containing compound having two or more active hydrogen atoms. and useful for a mixture of coal with oil. The above-mentioned stabilizer in an amount of usually 0.03-5%, preferably 0.05-0.15% based on the mixture of coal with the oil is added thereto.
