<p>PURPOSE:To save the labor for picking cells one by one with a micromanipulator and to improve the growth activity of cells, by carrying out cell-fusion on a diaphragm and transferring the fused cell together with the diaphragm, thereby preventing the damage of the cells. CONSTITUTION:Cell fusion is carried out by applying an electric stimulation to a cell suspension liquid held between a pair of oppositely placed electrodes 1, 2. One of the electrodes 1, 2 is made sufficiently larger than the other electrode to enable the generation of high density gradient of electric line of force and a detachable diaphragm 3 is placed between the electrodes 1, 2. Since cell- fusion is carried out on the diaphragm 3, the labor for picking the cells one by one with a micromanipulator can be saved by transferring the culture device together with the diaphragm. Furthermore, since the cells are not treated by mechanical operation, the damage of cells can be prevented to improve the growth of the fused cell.</p> |
