PURPOSE:To erase an unnecessary shadow of a book which is placed while it is open by detecting the position of the opened book as an original and controlling an image processing means so that image information is erased widely in the central part of the opened book and narrowly in an edge part. CONSTITUTION:Between the main electrification corona discharger 5 and the developing device 6, an erasing cell array 30, which erases a prescribed range of an image, is provided close to a photosensitive drum 4. Plural original size detectors 32 are arranged on an optical base 31 which is below an original scanning device 22; an original size is detected by combining signals from them; the position of the book is detected by the use of a one-sided opening detection sensor 42. Image information is erased widely in the central part of the book, where shadow is formed in a wide range, and narrowly in other edge parts; therefore, an unnecessary shadow can be securely erased. |
