PURPOSE:To deliver a workpiece from one NC lathe to another NC lathe without any exclusive device by providing a workpiece chucking device on each turret type tool rest on the NC lathes opposite to each other and energizing the chucking device in the radial direction of the turret. CONSTITUTION:A primary turret 51 is mounted to the front of a primary tool rest 47, corresponding to a primary main spindle 11 rotating on a motor 9, and a secondary turret 53 is mounted to the front of a secondary tool rest 49, corresponding to a secondary main spindle 17 rotating on a motor 15. One of the faces of the primary turret 51 is fitted with a chuck 55 for holding a workpiece and one of the faces of the secondary turret 53 is as well provided with a chuck 57 for holding a workpiece, and said chucks 55 and 57 are so energized with a spring as to project. A workpiece machined with the main spindle 11 is received by the chuck 55 of the primary tool rest, passed to the chuck 57 of the secondary tool rest 49 and mounted to the secondary main spindle 17. |
