In a headrest, which can be height-adjusted by means of a remote control, for a motor vehicle seat, a runner, with a slide which is movable against spring force for disengaging and engaging the free support rod end, being guided height-adjustably in a U-profiled rail fixed to the seat, and a pushbutton being received by the rail, which pushbutton can be pressed in against spring force and from which extensions project, which are equipped with obliquely directed end faces and which, in the fully extended position of the headrest, reach under associated noses projecting from the slide, the disengaging process is to be made easier by omission of the spring acting directly on the pushbutton, although the operability is not to suffer. To this end, it is proposed to design the end faces of the extensions as run-on inclines for the noses so that when they run on the pushbutton is transferred into its position close to the bottom of the rail.
