A method and a device for changing the maximally obtainable hydraulic working pressure in the hydraulic working system (900) of a construction machine, especially an excavator. By setting means (701, 702), it is possible to control either both the pressure level of a pressure limiting unit (260) maximizing the maximum permissible working pressure and the pressure control level (p2) of the pump system (100), or only the pressure control level (p2) of the pump system (100). The setting means (701, 702) are supplied with the power signal D from a pressure level setting unit (700). The power signal D may alternatively also be used for simultaneously actuating a valve arrangement by means of which switching is effected to a certain type of digging or transport speed (e.g. low/high speed). Alternatively, the pressure level setting unit (700) is supplied with signals [Z] representing the position of the working equipment relative to the horizontal plane. |
