A radio-frequency generator for an induction heater, laser and plasma applications and the like, by means of which a load (13) which is essentially a resonant circuit is supplied with an adjustable power whose frequency is equal to or approximately equal to the natural resonant frequency of the load (13) at a given point in time. The generator comprises a bridge rectifier (1), a chopper (2), a starter (3), isolating windings (4), a transistor invertor (5), an automatic frequency tracking system (6), a regulation and protection system (7), a trigger circuit (8, 9), control signal supply, monitoring and generation systems (10), and transformers (11, 12). <IMAGE>
