To secure a vehicle, a movable lock device (11,12) engages a component rotatably connected to the vehicle crankshaft (5), e.g. the flywheel (2), and is moved to its locked position by a spring (14). An electrical power source (15) moves the lock device to its freed position, and is in turn activated by a code card or key activating a control part. A security device blocks the electrical power source irreversibly on receipt of signals not determined by the code card or key, and the control part. - The security device is positioned so that the blocking effect on the electrical power source can only be cancelled by workshop intervention, and incorporates a switch fitted inside the lock device housing (10). A control signal transmitted by the control part to the lock device has lower voltage than that of the vehicle battery/generator. The signal is an AC voltage or a pulsating DC voltage, and is superimposed on that of the vehicle battery/generator. (Provisional basic advised week 89/49)(1/2) |
