Method for transporting spinning cans between a drafting frame and a number of rotor-spinning machines and apparatus for carrying out the method

A method and an apparatus for transporting spinning cans between a drafting frame and a number of rotor-spinning machines are described. The spinning cans filled with a spinning sliver at the drafting frame are transported by means of a transport device to one of the rotor-spinning machines and are deposited there. Empty spinning cans are subsequently transported back from the rotor-spinning machine to the drafting frame and filled with spinning sliver again. The transport device waits at the drafting frame with filled spinning cans until at least one empty spinning can is detected on a rotor-spinning machine. After an empty spinning can has been detected, the transport device is guided to the corresponding rotor-spinning machine. The empty spinning can is subsequently transferred automatically from the rotor-spinning machine onto the transport device by means of a transfer device provided on the transport device. Then, by means of the transfer devices, a number of filled spinning cans corresponding to the number of empty spinning cans removed from the rotor-spinning machine is transferred from the transport device onto the rotor-spinning machine.
