Device for peridural anaesthesia which can be used to identify the peridural space reliably before the injection and to carry out peridural anaesthesia as well as spinal anaesthesia. It comprises a double cannula having a connection for standard needles for each of the completely separate lumina. The inner cannula has a pointed tip and projects slightly above the blunt end of the outer cannula. The outer cannula has a lateral opening on each of its two ends, the opening of the attachment piece ending in a connection for the needle. <IMAGE>
