Process for producing double-wall hollow metal bodies, in particular tubular hollow bodies, whereby on a first section of sheet metal forming the inner wall of the hollow body is placed in a sealed and adjacent manner a second section of sheet metal forming the outer wall and which is welded in zones with the first section of sheet metal. Furthermore, a sizing element is forced into the rough hollow bodies formed from two layers of sheet connected together and a pressure means is applied in the intermediate space between the thicknesses of sheet, thereby enabling the regions of the second section of metal sheet not welded to the first section of metal sheet to be enlarged outwardly by deformation.
