The invention relates to polypeptides which contain the EGF domain of factor IX or a subsequence thereof and are suitable for the specific inhibition of the binding of coagulation factor IX or its activated form IXa to endothelial cell surfaces. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical products which contain such polypeptides. The polypeptides and the pharmaceutical products make it possible to treat thrombotic disorders without impairing the protective extravascular coagulation and comprise the following amino-acid sequences: Asp-Gly-Asp-Gln-Cys, Lys-Gln-Tyr-Val-Asp-Gly-Asp-Gln-Cys, Phe-Trp-Lys-Gln-Tyr-Val-Asp-Gly-Asp-Gln-NH2, Lys-Gln-Tyr-Val-Asp-Gly-Asp-Gln-Cys-Glu-Ser-Asn-NH2 and Lys-Gln-Tyr-Val-Asp-Gly-Asp-Gln-NH2.
