A mounting for a lid (2) of a housing (1) has non-round snap-on bodies (4) which are arranged on the pivot axle (3) and onto which the lid (2) can be snapped by means of resiliently expandable tongue-shaped extensions (7). If the lid (2) is forcibly pivoted beyond a final intended open position, the force (14) occurring thereby consequently merely causes a non-destructive snapping off of the lid (2) from the pivot axle (3).
