A method for measuring the radiant intensity of optical transmitters radiating incoherent light or the luminous intensity of incoherent light sources, in which measurement values of the light power radiated into a solid angle region from surface elements of the radiating transmitter surface are formed, is simplified by the inlet surface of a single-mode lightwave guide (LWL) being directed in front of the respective surface element and by the light power of the beam leaving the LWL being measured by means of an optical power meter. <IMAGE>
