PURPOSE:To perform fast angle calculation by providing a division part, a table which stores a tangent value, and an angle reference part which outputs an angle nearest to a value calculated by the division part by referring to the table. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with the division part 3 which calculates tan theta= Y/ X, the table 4 which stores the tangent values in accordance with plural angles calculated in advance, and the angle reference part 5 which outputs the angle nearest to the value calculated by the division part 3 by referring to the table 4. Therefore, only division is required for calculation to convert a vector ( X, Y) to the angle theta, and angle information can be obtained by referring to the tangent values in accordance with plural kinds of angles calculated in advance stored in a tan theta table by an angle reference part 5. In such a way, it is possible to quickly convert vector information to the angle information even by a plotter capable of only performing an integer arithmetic operation. |
