<p>PURPOSE:To achieve a higher reliability, by connecting a resistance between an electrostatic capacitance voltage divider and a surge detector section of a fault locator to make an input voltage waveform into a fault locator signal processing section approximate to an applied voltage waveform as much as possible. CONSTITUTION:Equipment with a higher insulation grade has larger values of capacitors 12 and 14 with a larger floating capacitance 11 thereof, which gives a larger value of L as combined value of the capacitances of the capacitors 12 and 14, hence requiring a larger resistance 20. Depending on the arrangement of equipment or the shape of a ground tank, a fault locator surge detector section 17 must be earthed at a position away from the electrostatic capacitance voltage divider. In this case, a due increase in the length of lead also requires a larger resistance 20 with a greater floating inductance. According to this invention, the arrangement of the resistance 20 between the capacitors 12 and 14 allows an input voltage waveform into a fault locator signal processing section to approximate to an applied voltage waveform thereby achieving a higher accuracy.</p> |
