<p>PURPOSE:To attain a correct matching to a registered graphic even with the ambiguity in a stroke form by comparing a structure pattern constituted of segment elements with a structure pattern constituted of respective dictionary graphics to obtain the difference. CONSTITUTION:The hand written graphic stroke from a tablet 1 is read as a coordinate point string in a data reading part 2 and the graphic stroke is polygonal line approximated in a polygonal line approximation part 3. In a circular arc/straight line decision part 4, the ternary labelling of the circular arc/straight line, the circular arc or the straight line or the ambiguity is executed for respective two polygonal lines according to the definition of the circular arc from a memory 6. In a recognition part 5, the segment element string of the circular arc or the straight line is formed from a polygonal line string and a part of the ambiguity defined by the circular arc/straight line decision part 4 changes the interpretation on the circular arc or the straight line and matches the graphic structure pattern constituted of the segment element string of the circular arc and the straight line of an input graphic to the structure pattern of the dictionary graphic of the memory 6.</p> |
