<p>PURPOSE:To provide an optical waveguide system low in cost and high in optical energy density at a focusing part, by composing an optical waveguide of a plurality of light-guiding sheets in a structure wherein it is branched into a plurality of parts at a light incidence part near a light source and is an integral body at a light-emitting part in the vicinity of an optical switch array. CONSTITUTION:A trifurcated optical waveguide is made from a polymethyl methacrylate resin by a casing method. The thickness t0 of the optical waveguide is 2.0mm, light emitted from a green color fluorescent lamp through slits 2 are take-in through incidence ends 4 of the waveguide, and taken out through an emitting end 5. Thus, the light is collected through the plurality of slits, whereby the energy density at the emitting end part 5 can be increased to about 3 times that on the surface of the lamp.</p> |
