A laser beam scanner comprises a scanning window (4) through which scanning beams are emitted, a plurality of hologram layers (41, 42) constituting the scanning window (4), and an optical system for impinging a laser beam on the hologram layers (41, 42) in a manner such that the trace of the laser beam scanning each hologram layer (41) intersects that of the other hologram layers (42) on the scanning window (4). Such a laser beam scanner can be more compact as compared with conventional laser beam scanners.
