PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester compsn. having excellent adhesion to epoxy resins and good mechanical properties and flow characteristics in molding, by blending an arom. polyester with a specified epoxy compd. CONSTITUTION:A compsn. is obtd. by incorporating 0.05-30pts.wt. epoxy compd. of formula I in 100pts.wt. arom. polyester. In the formula, R1 and R2 are each a 1-36C hydrocarbon group; R3, R4 and R5 are each H or methyl; R6, R7, R8, R9 and R10 are each H, halogen, a hydrocarbon group, cyano, an alkoxy, phenoxy or nitro; R11 is H or a group of formula II; and m is 0-20. The arom. polyester is a polyester having arom. rings in its polymer chain. Examples thereof are polymers and copolymers obtd. by condensing an arom. dicarboxylic acid with a diol as main components. Arom. polyesters having a reduced viscosity of 0.5-2.5dl/g in o-chlorophenol at 25 deg.C are preferred. |
