PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer recording sheet capable of continuous control of transfer-recorded density, having excellent rubbing resistance of images and being easy to produce, by providing projected parts on the surface of a thermal transfer layer and using the same material as that of a portion of binder materials as a main constituent of the projected parts. CONSTITUTION:Projected parts 120 are provided on the surface of a thermal transfer layer 110, and a main constituent thereof is the same as that of at least a portion of binder materials. Therefore, the projected parts 120 may contain a coloring material 123, and may be constituted of the same material as that of the entire body of the thermal transfer layer 110. As the binder material 111, a general high molecule weight material is useful, and is particularly used as a hot-melt material. The viscosity characteristic at an elevated temperature of the binder material 111 is very important for enhancing transfer recording characteristics. When the melt viscosity of the binder material at 100 deg.C is set to be not more than 300 cP, recording sensitivity and recorded density characteristics become particularly favorable. |
