PURPOSE:To obtain a computer diagnosis system operated without providing a special function for an expert system in the computer by providing a terminal emulation means and the expert system in a work station connected to a computer to be diagnosed on which a monitor program is mounted. CONSTITUTION:According to an instruction from the expert system 96 on a screen 92, a conversation with a host computer 70 is performed through a screen 91. Thereby, the monitor program 71 travels on the host computer 70, various types of values indicating the operating state of the host computer 70 are collected, this result is transferred to the work station through a transmission line 80 and displayed on the screen 91. The result displayed on the screen 91 is examined and a response is applied to the expert system 96 through the screen 92. The expert system 96 retrieves a knowledge data base based on this response, issues the next instruction and displays on the screen 92. According to the repetition as mentioned above, the host computer 70 is diagnosed. |
