PURPOSE:To extract a profile with high accuracy even if the brightness of a picture changes partially by detecting one of profile picture elements from the density difference of adjacent picture elements and applying profile tracing successively while taking the profile picture element as a start point. CONSTITUTION:One of the profile picture elements is detected from the density difference of adjacent picture elements and the profile tracing is attained successively by taking the profile picture element as a start point. Thus, in comparison with the binarization of all picture elements from the start, the margin to lighting conditions is large, and even when the mean picture element density is high or low, that is, even when the entire picture is bright or dark, and even when the brightness of the picture is changed partially, the profile is extracted with high accuracy. Moreover, one picture element in the profile is found out by the fast scanning mode of processing time and the profile tracing mode with high detection accuracy is transited, then the total processing time is short. |
