DEVICE FOR DRIVING A DRILLING AND/OR IMPACTING TOOL

A device for driving a drilling and/or impacting tool has a shaft journalled in a housing so as to be rotatable, one end of the shaft being connectable with the tool whereas the other end is accessible for an oscillatory impact body movable in the housing by means of a guide. A rotatable driving shaft, through a transmission, sets the tool shaft into rotation and/ or the impact body into movement. The transmission comprises means for converting the rotary movement of the driving shaft into an oscillatory movement of a driving element, which is connected through an elastic member with the impact body. The elastic member is a metal leaf spring that has a non-linear spring characteristic curve. The driving element is a supporting arm extending along the leaf spring and pivotally journalled in the housing.
