PURPOSE:To prevent lowering of color density of image, even in case of processing the image with a color developing solution which does not contain benzyl alcohol for a short period, by developing said material with the developing solution which contains a color coupler capable of forming or releasing a nondiffusive coloring matter and does not contain benzyl alcohol in the presence of a specific compd. CONSTITUTION:The color coupler is composed of the compd. which is substantially nondiffusive and is capable of substantially forming or releasing nondiffusive coloring matter by oxidation coupling with an aromatic primary amine color developing agent. The developing is effected with the developing solution which has <=11.5pH and does not contain benzyl alcohol and also contains at least one of an alkaline metal atom or mercapto group which may be substd. with ammonium group, in the presence of at least one of the compd. selected from the group comprising tetrazaindene, triazaindene and pentazaindene. Thus, the color density is not reduced, even in case of processing the image with the color developing solution which does not contain benzyl alcohol for the short period. |
