PURPOSE:To facilitate facsimile parameter extension by inserting a special discrimination code which never appears in data into its facsimile information field. CONSTITUTION:A unique code UC is inserted into the facsimile information field FIF. In this case, the UC is the special discrimination code which never appears in the FIF. When five ''1''s continue in a bit sequence of the FIF on a transmission side, one ''0'' is inserted and erroneous detection of a flag F is avoided by information in the FIF on a reception side so that the same pattern with the flag F does not appears in the FIF of a control signal specified by the advice T.30 of CCITT (International Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee). The, 10000001 which is the reverse pattern of the flag F is only selected as an extended code of the FIF. In this case, ''1'' is inserted into the information of the FIF previously on the transmission side when five ''0''s continue and when the extension of the FIF is necessary, the code 10000001 is added after the final bit of the FIF to facilitate the extension. |
