<p>PURPOSE:To absorb air gaps, by holding both sides of an absorbent layer in a horizontal type canister with the use of stationary filters and porous holding plates, and by providing a vertically slidable plunger urging the absorbent layer downward by means of a spring, in the upper wall section of the casing of the canister. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal type canister casing 10 is closed at one side end with an intake-air chamber side cover 21 and at the other side end with an atmospheric air chamber side cover 22, and an absorbent layer 32 is held between an intake-air chamber side holding plate 23 and an atmospheric air chamber side holding plate 27 through the intermediary of filters 30, 31. A guide secured to the inner surface of the upper wall section of a casing is positioned in the center upper section of the absorbent layer 32, and is fitted and disposed slidably therein with a cylindrical plunger 34. A filter 35 is disposed on the lower surface of the plunger 34 urged by a spring 36 in a direction in which the absorbent layer is pressed downward.</p> |
