PURPOSE:To provide a heat transfer printer minimizing the consumption of an ink ribbon by providing an ink ribbon feeding and winding mechanism outside the carrier so as to skip and return a thermal head lifting it except for printing. CONSTITUTION:When a skipping is done, an up/down level 6 is moved in the direction of the arrow (u) to press a level 22 so that an arm 20 will be turned clockwise against a tensile force of a spring 23. A ribbon clamp 21 is separated from a guide pin 15, where the clamping of the ink ribbon 13 is released. At the same time, the ribbon clamp 10 is pressed with a guide pin 7 to clamp the ink ribbon 13. |
