PURPOSE:To enable fine images to be formed on any object, by forming an image on an image-transferring transfer recording sheet by sublimation transfer based on image data, and using the image-transferring transfer recording sheet to form the image on a transfer recording sheet by thermal transfer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 121 is opposed to a platen roll 122, and a dye film is fed from a payout roll 123 to a take-up roll 124. A transfer recording sheet is fixed to the positioned platen roll 122 through a taking-out roll 126 and feeding belts 127, 128, and the platen roll 122 is rotated to move the sheet to a printing-starting position. Next, the thermal head 121 is pressed against the transfer recording sheet with the dye film therebetween, and is energized while synchronously moving the dye film and the platen roll 122, thereby transferring an image onto the sheet. After the transferring, the platen roll 122 is rotated, a gripper is released, and the sheet is taken out into a tray 130 by pressing a taking-out roll 129 while pressing it against the platen roll. The transfer recording sheet and a transfer recording sheet are laid one upon the other, and the image is fused to the latter sheet by heated rolls or the like, thereby completing the transfer. |
