The speed of a fluid motor (1) is controlled as a function of the speed of an adjustable electric motor (7). A differential (9) includes two inputs (11, 14) which are connected respectively to rotary outputs (8, 3) of the motors (7, 1) and includes an output (16) which moves when the actual value of the ratio between the speeds of the outputs (8, 3) deviates from a predetermined value. The output (16) controls a valve (19) in such a way that the distribution of fluid to the motor (1) is varied so as to counteract any deviation from the said predetermined value. <IMAGE>
