A device for calibrating and reaching a target point 13 inside a body part of a patient, especially the head, comprises a reference element 21, which can be constantly fitted to the said body part of the patient, and at least three reference markings 10-12, for example metal shot, in the vicinity of the target point 13, transilluminating members for position-detection and coordinate-fixing of the target point 13 and the reference markings 10-12 applied to the patient within an arbitrary system of coordinates, means 23 for calibrating the position and orientation of the reference element 21 relative to the reference markings 10-12, members for converting the coordinates of the target point 13 in the arbitrary system of coordinates into coordinates in a system of coordinates which is fixed relative to the reference element 21 fitted fixedly to the patient, whereby the target point 13 can be reached on the basis of the reference element 21. The device further comprises a monitor, on which images of the body part are shown orientated in the reference-element-based system of coordinates, and a microscope coupled to the reference element 21 via a direction indicator, which indicates the alignment of the microscope in the system of coordinates of the reference element 21 in the various images. <IMAGE> |
