A reinforcing washer to aid the mounting of an object which projects through an opening in a thin surface material which due to its small thickness lacks carrying capacity against surface pressure and sufficient strength to receive and hold mounting means for the object comprises a flat, annular disc 1 preferably made from sheet metal and having an internal diameter d1 equal to the diameter of the opening in the thin surface material.
