PURPOSE:To enable a printing hammer to be decelerated smoothly according to all kinds of characters and printing pressures, by a method wherein a sensor means detecting the action of the printing hammer is provided and a start position of a second electric conduction is changed according to the return speed of the printing hammer. CONSTITUTION:A printing control part 100 contains a pulse forming circuit which amplifies a detection signal issued from a sensor 12 for forming pulse, a CPU 102 which operates according to the pulse signal formed in the circuit to detect the return speed of a printing hammer 9 and calculates a solenoid drive start position, a drive electric current, etc. on the basis of the detected speed to control the drive of the printing hammer according to the detected values, and a peripheral IO circuit 104 sending the control signal to the external. With the high return speed of the printing hammer 9, deceleration can be accomplished by a method wherein the electric current to the hammer is controlled so that the printing hammer is re-excited by a pulse 29 immediately after the detection of the return speed. With the low return speed, smooth deceleration can be conducted by a method wherein a pulse 33 is generated offset by a predetermined delay time DELTAt and thereby the printing hammer 9 moves nearer a stopper 8-a to start decelerating at an appropriate position. |
