PURPOSE:To enhance a printing speed and reduce a running cost, by providing a recording ribbon of two-layered structure consisting of a resistant layer and a conductive layer, a plurality of electrodes abutting on the resistant layer, and a printer head which is set on a head carriage so as to press a spliced paper through the recording ribbon. CONSTITUTION:A recording ribbon 28 has a two-layered structure consisting of a resistant layer 281 and a conductive layer 282, and a head 31 is provided on a head carriage 20 on the platen's side opposedly to a platen 12. On the tip end of the head 31, a plurality of electrodes 311, 311,... are arranged along the column direction at right angles to a printing row. The electric conduction is selectively carried out from the respective electrodes 311,... of the head 31 to the recording ribbon 28, and the resistant layer 281 generates heat due to the conduction partially in fine spot form at the portion thereof corresponding to the electrode 311. Then, a thermosensible paper 1 reacts to be thermally changed, whereby dots making up characters, graphics, etc. are formed thereon. |
