The apparatus for the detonation coating of coverings onto workpieces contains a control unit (1) which is electrically coupled to a spark plug (2), to valves (3, 4, 5) for supplying working gases into a mixer (6) and to a powder dispenser (7). A jet pipe (8) is connected to the powder dispenser (7), to the spark plug (2) and to the gas mixer (6) and generates an intensive gas stream which contains the covering material and which is directed onto the workpiece face to be coated. To avoid detonation flashbacks, according to the invention the apparatus contains a device (11) for blowing neutral gas against the mouth face (12) of a jet pipe (8), the said device (11) being mechanically connected to the jet pipe (8) and being electrically coupled to a control unit (1). <IMAGE> |
