PURPOSE:To enable detection of residual of an ion exchange resin, by setting a measure ment starting electrode and a measurement ending electrode respectively at measuring positions of the highest and lowest parts of a resin packed into a resin cylinder to detector deterioration in the ion exchange resin by stages. CONSTITUTION:Raw water enters a water treating equipment from an inlet piping and transferred out of the system at an outlet piping as solftened passing through measuring electrodes A-C, while the deterioration range L of an ion exchange resin within a resin a resin cylinder advances to the downstream with the water passage time. When a voltage is applied between pairs of electrodes A1-A2, B1-B2, C1-C2... separately with the operation of a control box, resistances between electrodes are detected as electrical signals, then, computed in comparison with a reference electrode output by the control box and an electrical signal is obtained indicating a residual capacity. The signal is converted into a signal invulnerable to the effect of temperature and the density of stock water by being divided by a comparison electrode signal. When the signal exceeds a certain value, the deterioration range is determined to reach the corresponding position gradually and thus, the deterioration range L is detected and displayed at three levels. |
