PURPOSE:To achieve a higher inspecting accuracy with a higher quality of picture of the apparatus, by enhancing the utilization efficiency of X rays to use a columnar crystal scintillator not deteriorating resolving power. CONSTITUTION:As a hand baggage 9 being moved with a belt conveyor 8 passes through a hand baggage position detecting photosensor 11, an X-ray shutter 13 opens, X rays transmitted through the hand baggage 9 are detected with an X rays detector 4 and the detection signal is amplified 5. Then, an image processing section 6 performs an A/D conversion 6A of an analog signal inputted from a preamplifier circuit 5 and a logarithmic conversion 6C with the correction 6B of an offset voltage. Then, the signal converted logarithmically is subjected to a gain correction 6D at channel of the X-ray detector 4 to be stored into a memory circuit 6E and data stored undergoes an image enhancement 6F. The data is subjected to a D/A conversion 6G and displayed sequentially on a monitor 7. Then, X rays are cut off and after the image processing is stopped, the contents of the hand baggage 9 is displayed 7. This achieves a higher inspecting accuracy with a higher quality of picture of an inspecting device. |
