PURPOSE:To obtain L-arginine from a culture mixture in high productivity, by cultivating a bacterium containing a recombinant DNA having genetic information participating in synthesis of L-arginine biosynthesis enzyme of a bacterium belonging to the genus Corynebacterium. CONSTITUTION:A bacterium (coryneform bacterium capable of producing glutamic acid) belonging to the genus Corynebacterium or Brevibacterium, having recombinant DNA of a DNA fragment containing genetic information participating in synthesis of L-arginine biosynthesis enzyme of a bacterium belonging to the genus Corynebacterium of Brevibacterium and vector DNA, is cultivated in a medium and L-arginine is collected from the culture mixture. Genetic information participating in synthesis of an enzyme such as N- acetylglutamate kinase, N-acetyl-(R)-glutamyl phosphate reductase, enzyme having activity capable of recovering demanding characteristics of a variant deficient in N-acetylglutamate synthetase of Escherichia coli to nondemanding characteristics, etc., may be cited as the genetic information. |
