PURPOSE:To obtain a final reproduced image with proper density by extracting and reproducing an image signal of an area between the maximum and minimum image signal levels stored in a memory inputting an image signal of one screen from the memory. CONSTITUTION:Image information emitted from a phosphor sheet 12 is received by a photomultiplier 13 and stored once in a memory 17 via an amplifier 14, a logarithmic converter 15 and an A/D converter 16. Moreover, the information is inputted to a maximum/minimum discrimination digital circuit 18 and the maximum level Smax, minimum level Smin are obtained at each screen and the result is stored in the memory 19. Then the information from the memory 17 and the maximum/minimum levels from the memory 19 are given to a digital arithmetic circuit, where the minimum level corresponds to a Dmin and the maximum level corresponds to a Dmax, and the signal of the inbetween level is converted according to a desired converting function. Then the result is converted into an analog signal by a D/A converter 21 and the image is reproduced on a photosensitive material 25 by a photomodulator 22. |
