PURPOSE:To obtain an electroless plating soln. for forming a magnetic film having high coercive force with high reproducibility by dissolving Co ions, Zn ions, a reducing agent for the metal ions and a complexing agent contg. a malonic acid, tartaric acid or pyrophosphoric acid group in water. CONSTITUTION:An aq. soln. contg. soluble salts of Co and Zn such as sulfates, chlorides, acetates or tartrates by 0.004-2mol/l (expressed in terms of Co ions) and 0.0001-1.5mol/l (expressed in terms of Zn ions) is prepd., 0.01-1.3mol/l hypophosphite, hydrazine or the like as a reducing agent for the metal ions is added to the aq. soln. and a soluble salt is further added so that the soln. contains 0.001-4mol/l malonic acid groups, 0.001-2mol/l tartaric acid groups or 0.001-1.5mol/l pyrophosphoric acid groups as a complexing agent for the metal ions. When the resulting soln. is used as an electroless plating soln., a magnetic film having high coercive force is formed with high reproducibility to produce a magnetic recording medium such as a magnetic disk. |
