CERAMIC GLAZE

This glaze is suitable for glazing ceramics, such as floor and wall tiles undergoing speedy one-time baking at temperatures 1,100 - 1,250 degrees C. Its composition includes a waste product - blast furnace slag - which helps reduce the cost of glazed products with no deterioration of their physical and mechanical properties. The glaze contains, in mass percent: 30-60 granular blast furnace slag, 10-45 chamot, 5-25 low-melting borosilicate frit, 3-10 kaolin or white-baked clay and, optionally, technical grade aluminium oxide or another material containing up to 15 mass percent of corundum.
