PURPOSE:To prevent increase of the memory capacity in a center system and at the same time to surely avoid the foul use of an IC card, by recording an identification number with division to the IC card and the center system. CONSTITUTION:When an IC card is put into a reception/payment device 51, the device 51 reads a transaction account number via a magnetic head 35 and at the same time urges a user to have input of his/her identification number. When the account number is sent to a host computer 77, the computer 77 reads the corresponding identification number of two digits out of a transaction information file and sends it to a main control part 70 of the device 51. The part 70 produces an identification number from the received identification number and based on a combination method recorded in a data memory and compares this produced number with the identification number applied by the customer. Then a transaction is started when coincidence is secured between both numbers in terms of the number of digits. |
