PURPOSE:To continuously and surely monitor whether sampled water has the prescribed concn. of chlorine or not by adding the prescribed amount of a reducing agent soln. and announcing alarm at a time when the concn. of chlorine contained in sampled water is dissociated from the concn. of chlorine to be monitored. CONSTITUTION:Sampled water 1 is continuously introduced into a mixer 3 at constant amount with a quantitative pump 2. On the other hand, a reducing agent soln. i.e. an NaHSO3 soln. is introduced into the mixer 3 from a tank 4 with fixed delivery pump 5. The pump 5 has a flow rate controlling mechanism 6 and injects the constant amount of NaHSO3 of stoichiometric amount correspoding to the concn. of chlorine being a monitoring objective incorporated in the sampled water. The water passed through the mixer 3 is introduced into an oxidation-reduction potential electrode cell 7 and oxidation-reduction potential is measured by an oxidation-reduction potential measuring apparatus 8. The measured potential is sent to an alarm device 9 and alarm is announced in case it is a potential not less than previously preset potential or not more than this preset potential. Since these respective apparatuses can be continuously operated, continuous monitoring is enabled. |
