Device for covering or uncovering at will tennis courts, swimming pools or other activity sites. It consists of a metal frame supporting a tarpaulin. The trusses 1, connected by articulated purlins 2 are driven by self-lubricated chains 3, controlled by geared motors 4. The stiffness of the unfolded purlins is provided by stays 9 tensioned by winches 10 driven by a secondary chain 11 arranged next to the main chain 3. At the end of the trusses, small wheels 5 roll in tracks 7. The tarpaulin is permanently tensioned by springs. <IMAGE>
