PURPOSE:To advantageously obtain the aimed compound in high yield, by using a solid oxygen carrier containing an oxide of bismuth and an oxide of molybdenum in a specific ratio when butadiene is produced by subjecting butene to oxidative dehydrogenation in the absence of a molecular oxygen. CONSTITUTION:When butene is subjected to oxidative dehydrogenation in the absence of a molecular oxygen to provide butadiene, a solid oxygen carrier containing an oxide of Bi and an oxide of Mo in an atomic ratio of 0.28-0.49, especially 0.33-0.46 Mo/Bi, preferably moreover P in an atomic ratio of <=0.8 P/Bi, more preferably moreover <30wt% SiO2 based on total amounts and industrially stably usable to afford the aimed compound in controlled by-reaction and in >=40% excellent yield without danger of explosion. Above-mentioned oxygen carrier can be produced by adding molybdic acid and basic bismuth nitrate in above-mentioned atomic ratio to water, stirring the mixture while heating at 80-120 deg.C for 10-20hr, washing with water and filtrating obtained aqueous suspension and drying and calcining the resultant solid product. |
