PROCESS FOR SEPARATING FATTY ACIDS FROM ROSIN ACIDS

Process comprises controlled dissociation through contact with a silicalite molecular sieve, the fatty acids remaining after withdrawal of the sieve being extracted by means of fluid. Pref. the fluid consists e.g. of an organic acid with application of diluent of at least 3.5 polarity index. The organic acid contains a component with 2-5 carbon atoms per molecule, and the diluent is e.g. acetone or diethyl ketone.
